Concert Grand Piano

Striking the right chord, that’s what I aim for as a Musical Speaker.

Yesterday, the conditions for that were perfect. Because in the AFAS Theater Leusden, there’s this phenomenal grand piano.

An incredibly rich, clear, and warm sound. Why does this Bösendorfer sound so much better than a regular piano?

The length of the instrument largely determines the quality. The larger soundboard and longer strings provide more dynamics and depth in the sound. Bösendorfers have been made in Vienna since 1828, crafted from spruce wood. And then there’s the fine mechanics. Wow. It’s amazing when an instrument responds so quickly and precisely. Truly a joy to play such a grand piano.

Yesterday, I had the privilege of doing just that, commissioned by ilionx, where I spoke about change. I used music as a metaphor. Music can bring about change because music moves you.

Days like this don’t feel like work. I spent the whole day walking around with a big smile on my face. In this hall, and with this grand piano, everything sounds like music to my ears.
