Today was ‘International Teacher’s Day’. The Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Cancer Institute in Amsterdam put its teachers and trainers in the spotlight with a great programme. What an honour to speak there. I showed and heard how emotion can literally get people moving.
Emotion is abundant in the AVL. Immediately upon entering, I was touched by the impressive ‘wall of thoughts’. People can leave their wishes and thoughts there on colourful notes.
When you read those messages you immediately realise the enormous impact cancer has on patients and family/friends, but also the importance of an institute like the AVL.
What an inspired group of people and what good work they do day in and day out.
